Narvik Terminal
The Port of Narvik in collaboration with Bane NOR and Narvikgården looked at various solutions for how the Narvik terminal can be developed in the short and long term.
According to Sections 12-3 and 12-8 of the Planning and Building Act, notification has been given that work has been initiated with area regulation for the Narvik terminal in Narvik municipality.
The Port of Narvik, Narvikgården AS and Bane NOR currently own parts of the area. The planning area also includes several private properties. An information process has been initiated informing landowners, tenants and other affected parties.
The purpose of the plan is to facilitate an overall development plan of the Narvik terminal consisting of a rail, bulk and port terminal. The owners of the initiative are the Port of Narvik, Narvikgården and Bane NOR, while Rambøll is assisting in the preparation of the regulatory work.
The plan area is approx. 990 daa including sea area and activates requirements for an impact assessment and planning program in accordance with regulations. For regulatory plans that fall under the requirement for impact assessments in Section 6, a planning program must be drawn up as a basis for the work as part of the notice of start of planning. The planning program is a “plan for planning”, and gives the population, authorities, business, teams/associations and others the opportunity to influence how the planning process is laid out, and what should be the theme of the regulation. The planning programme, planning area, notice of start-up and minutes from the start-up meeting with Narvik municipality are placed as separate documents at the bottom of this page.
